Villa La Madone by A2CM & Ceschia e Mentil Architetti Associati
Villa La Madone is built around a construction from the 1960s. The new structure differs from the original, while incorporating parts of the old stone house. The architects’ aim was to create a close dialogue with the surrounding garden and the existing terraces.
Villa La Madone has two faces: on the one hand it expresses the desire of the inhabitants to enjoy the vastness of the horizon and the romantic beauty of the landscape. On the other hand, when viewed from a distance, you can see its relationship with the tranquil space of the garden.
Moreover, the residence radiates the sense of a natural microcosmos within. The restored spaces of the old house have been converted to private areas, the bedrooms. On the other side of the house you find the kitchen and the office space.
Between these spaces the reception room, the lounge and the entrance area are located. All rooms are situated around an olive tree courtyard. Throughout the building there is no continuity between the interior spaces and routes through the house which end in the roof garden and the pool area.
