Country House by Leonovich Arseny
In the settlement our house is known as «Ivan Kuzmich the Steamship». Who first came up with that nickname, we do not know, but we liked it. Indeed, it has similarity with the steamer: widely sprawled on the site, recognizable due to a bright pure white ribbon of freely stretched ceilings. From afar, it stands out from the buildings around.
The roof slopes handed down beyond the walls, panoramic windows, colored soffits of the windows in the pool, rounded corners and a ramp to the second floor – its distinctive features. Bright V-shaped column marks the main entrance to the house.
Transparent facade glass of the residential part covered somewhere vertical wooden lamellas-blinds and somewhere deaf wooden facing. This serves to emphasize the rhythmic heterogeneity of facades composition.
On both sides of the living room are made open stone terraces. They are the figurative transition from the street to the transparent interior of the living room, and the living room, in its turn, to private residential rooms. This raises smooth flow of space with varying degrees of privacy: yard – terrace – transparent living room – home.
