House 1 by Alexis Dornier
Designed around three historic ‘centerpieces’ of traditional Javanese ‘joglo’ building style, the steel structure becomes the contemporary continuation of the structure.
Skylights and a floating mezzanine level highlight respect the 3 artifacts as ‘objet trouvé’. The person can explore these artifacts like an archaeologist, from every angle through a 3 dimensional experience.
Under the loft like living room are two master guest suites with bathrooms – accessed through a suspended spiral staircase.
