Maison de Vacances by Susanna Cots Estudi de Disseny
The union between the interior and the exterior has been the inspiration engine of the Catalan designer for the house “Maison de vacances” (Barcelona, 2015). A headline that defines very well the project of this family duplex, whose owners wanted to escape the daily stress of the city. Susanna Cots has designed a large space that embraces the terrace of the house in a single area of the house, the upper floor. In it, two lacquered DM cubes manage to create two environments for family communication: the kitchen and the living room, inside the house and two relaxation areas outside.
In the kitchen, the interior designer has designed a game of interior-exterior symmetries, ensuring that the dining room table belongs to both areas. On the other hand, in the living room, a central fireplace has been installed that encourages comfort and reading from both points of view. In the lower part of the house, two suites have been designed with a bathroom incorporated in each one of them. The lighting studied and cared for down to the smallest detail has been designed to promote fluid communication at home and to transmit the emotions and sensations of being in a vacation home. The design concept is joined by the use of noble materials and white, as the undisputed hallmark of the studio led by Susanna Cots.
