Field Way Bach by Parsonson Architects
This small holiday bach looks over the dune tops to the Esplanade Reserve in Waikanae, New Zealand. It was designed for a family who have owned the property for more than 30 years. An uninsulated 2 storey cabin was altered, insulated, reclad and extended.
We were keen not to add to the collection of existing suburban houses in this location, but to build closer to the spirit of a bach, to create a dwelling that is playful, low key, relaxed and that deals practically with the unique conditions of the locality. A holiday home to enjoy all year round.
