Big Sur Cabin by Studio Schicketanz
This cabin has had many lives, first owned by its designer-builder Kipp Stewart and later by Phillip Johnson and David Whitney, for whom Mattia Bonetti designed the living room.
Honoring this prominent history we made very few careful interventions to update the lighting, the kitchen and the bathroom.
An earth tone palette and mostly simple linens were chosen for a comfortable, informal interior.
A complimentary mix of the clients stunning art, mid-century accent pieces and local ceramics make for a playful and relaxing weekend home.
