Chmielna Apartment by Raca Architekci
In this project our task was to create a modern, raw interior with soft decorations. Main problem was a very limited budget. It was only 10 000 $ for 41 m2 (441 ft2) apartment. Lack of funds forced us to find custom solutions what became an advantage of this apartment.
The colors of the interior are cold – shades of gray from light grey to black with blue accents. We added exposed brick and industrial lighting – black cables routed along the ceiling and “naked” bulbs with colored cable braid. The rawness of this materials has been softened by subtle mandalas, which became the leitmotif. The most interesting of them – The owl, we placed on the black wall in the middle of living room. This large-format printing on PVC board, allowed to break the black of walls and minimize their impact on the interior. We created cozy interior in spite of cold colors
The bathroom is minimalist and kept in cold tones: only white and grey colors. Interior is warming by wooden top and stool in natural wood colors. To make this interior unique we used a effect of reflection. Inspired by the cover of a book by Paul Arden, we created a graphic in a frame that only in the reflection of the mirror gets a full meaning: „Whatever you think, think the opposite”
