Ripple Road Residence by Kelly Deck Design
Kelly Deck Design was charged with creating a contemporary Belgian-inspired farmhouse in the shadow of Cypress Mountain, in West Vancouver. The new, six-bedroom home would necessitate striking a balance between sophistication tradition and restraint.
The large-format porcelain tile of the main floor communicates durability and warmth. In the spacious kitchen, an innovative execution: a steel trough uniting the two large granite slabs of the island.
Such bespoke metal details inform the interior design throughout the home—the square spindles of the main stair, for example, meet a plate that cups the tread—emphasizing its utilitarian character.
In the master suite a solid oak barn-style door opens onto a master bathroom with vaulted ceilings, travertine floors, and spectacular natural light. A space of elegant repose.
